My Portfolio Interface!

This is my portfolio interface and this is not a easy assignment. I have many problems with flash such as action script , add sound and so on. This assignment took me a lot of time to think about idea and finish it.

Finally, i got it but the sound is not good, i will fix it and post my portfolio on the next entries.

9 Essential Principles for Good Web Design....

1.Precedence (Guiding the Eye).

- Position — Where something is on a page clearly influences in what order the user sees it.
- Color — Using bold and subtle colors is a simple way to tell your user where to look.
- Contrast — Being different makes things stand out, while being the same makes them secondary.
- Size — Big takes precedence over little (unless everything is big, in which case little might stand out thanks to Contrast).
- Design Elements — if there is a gigantic arrow pointing at something, guess where the user will look?

2.Spacing.

- Line Spacing.
- Padding.
- White Space.

3.Navigation.

- Navigation - Where can you go?

For example: Buttons to travel around a site should be easy to find - towards the top of the page and easy to identify. They should look like navigation buttons and be well described. The text of a button should be pretty clear as to where it's taking you.

- Orientation - Where are you now?
There are lots of ways you can orient a user so there is no excuse not to.

Let have a quick look about Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI)

Computer-generated imagery (also known as CGI) is the application of the field of computer graphics or, more specifically, 3D computer graphics to special effects in films, television programs, commercials, simulators and simulation generally, and printed media. It is an image that has been taken from one format such as a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) file and converted using computer software tools that manipulate lighting and reflections to create a photo realistic image. CGI images can be combined with other images. This is a great advantage for manufacturers and inventors of products.

CGI started with 2D and now is 3D. 2D CGI was first used in movies in 1973's and in the early 2000’s; computer-generated imagery became the dominant form of special effects. The software used to create computer-generated images is complicated and expensive.

Developments in CGI technologies are reported each year at SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques), an annual conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques, attended each year by tens of thousands of computer professionals.

Poster Design.....

Design a poster was really difficult, we firstly think about the concepts that relate to the message of poster wants to give people. Topic of my poster is save the tigers, i lost 3 days to lists all concepts and during my work, i added these in my poster. There are too much objects in it, my teacher (LiPing) delete two of them and only keep a powerful concept. However, many classmate used a same slogan with me, but it is extremely strong slogan.

The background of my poster is world map, so it has many spaces and difficult to have a proportion. My idea is try to persuade people in the world that live environment of tigers has been decreased and they are also facing with many problems. I use red color like warning the situation of them in danger and the big shape red color is the original of tiger in the world now.

And, there is my world, it is not good, do not abstracted and strong message. I think so, i will try my best for next time.
